From time to time it may be necessary to secure appropriate licensing or formal permissions to use copyright protected material.
Marcia Steeves, Academic Integrity and Copyright Officer, can assist you with these forms of requests. Typically the following information will be needed to assist in determining what license is needed:
- Specific name of resource with author/creator information
- Amount of the work required with specific pages, items detailed
- Name of program and course it will be used in
- Timing and frequency of course (e.g. one semester vs. annual)
- Approximate number of students
Please note where a cost is involved in obtaining licensing, the cost of licensing will be charged back to the program with prior approval from appropriate signing authorities.
