At the Tutoring and Academic Skills Centre, we can help students reach their academic potential by providing support focused on individual needs.

  • Meet with a Peer Tutor to work on strengthening your understanding of course content.
  • Book an appointment with a Learning Strategies Advisor to work on skills and practices that will support your learning.
  • Learn how to breakdown an assignment or ask for guidance on how to better manage your time with a Learning Strategies Advisor.
  • Get some help with writing or drop in to a math session for some foundational support to help you improve your grades.

Booked Appointments

  • Book an appointment with a Tutor or Learning Strategy Advisor using our online booking system.
  • Some tutoring sessions will take place in-person, while others are offered online. Details available in the booking system.
  • Appointments for learning strategies will take place in-person or online, please select the delivery method that works best for you when booking your appointment.
  • Learning strategy appointments are one-on-one.  Tutoring appointments may be one-on-one or small group.

Sutherland - Fall 2023 Drop Ins

A DROP-IN session is for all students currently registered in this course to ask the tutor any questions related to material presented in any classes to date. Please connect only during the date/time posted. Participation in this tutorial does not count toward the 2 hours per week of tutoring per student. This is an open hour for students to drop in for any length of time needed and there may be other students in the drop in room. Some drop-in session are available in-person and others online.  Please check the schedule below for the delivery method.

Frost / Haliburton - Spring 2023 Group Study

This group session, led by a tutor, provides an opportunity for clarification and discussion of the current week material in a study group environment. Students are encouraged to bring questions, along with a collaborative spirit, to facilitate peer-to-peer learning with the help of a tutor. You are encouraged to join at the posted start time as you will need the full time and it may reduce disruption to the session. Participation in this tutorial does not count toward the 2 hours per week of tutoring per student.
