Full-time students, Part-time students, Apprenticeship students and Continuing Education students require a valid library card to borrow items from the library.

Full-time student ID cards also function as a library card. Part-time students can request a library card at the circulation desk. Community and Alumni borrowers require ID displaying local area address such as a Driver’s License or an Ontario Photo Card.

Borrowers are responsible for all transactions made on their library card including overdue fines and any charges for damaged or lost items. Report lost cards immediately to avoid misuse of your library privilege. Library accounts will be blocked when outstanding fines exceed $2.00.

Lost Items

Once an item is 61 days overdue, it will be marked as Assumed Lost, and the borrower will be charged the full replacement cost of the item and a $10.00 processing fee.

Overdue Notifications

Students will be contacted regarding overdue library material using the email address on file.

Holds

If an item is checked out to another library user, you can place a hold on the item. Holds may not be placed on Reserve items, Reference items, journals or magazines. When the item becomes available you will be notified through your college email. Hold items will be held at the Circulation desk for seven days for pick up.

Reserves

Faculty will determine which items are placed on reserve and their terms of usage. Generally Reserve items are for in library use only.

Interlibrary Loan

Loans from other libraries and organizations can be arranged. No fee is charged for this service. Contact the library circulation desk or send an email to library@flemingcollege.ca with your request. Interlibrary loan items that are returned late will incur fines of $1.00 per day, per item.

Vandalism

When a book is damaged beyond repair, the borrower will be responsible for the full replacement cost.
