Fleming College students, staff, and faculty can request books and journal articles from other institutional libraries through our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Service. Please note that this service is not available to alumni or community borrowers, and textbooks may not be requested from other institutions. Up to ten items can be borrowed at a given time.
If the requested material is available from Trent University or the Peterborough Public Library, Sutherland Campus students are expected to borrow directly from these institutions.
To request a book or article, you may submit a form in person at the Library Service Desk, or complete our online request form.
Items may take a few days or up to two weeks to arrive. You will be notified through your Fleming email when your request is available. Please have your valid student card ready when picking up material.
Overdue or lost ILL materials can affect our borrowing relationship with other libraries. Fines for overdue materials are $1.00 per item/per day. For lost or unreturned items, borrowers will be charged the full replacement cost of the item plus any additional fees added by the lending library.
Should be requested at least three days before the book is due. The lending library will determine if a renewal is granted and length of the renewal.
Current Fleming staff and students can borrow materials from other college libraries within Ontario as per our Direct Borrowing Agreement. Simply provide your current Fleming card at any participating Ontario college library to borrow materials in person. Borrowing privileges, loan periods, and overdue/lost fines are up to the discretion of the lending library.
Fleming Library will lend up to 5 titles, at no charge, to other Canadian Libraries.
Please send us a request by email to Library@Flemingcollege.ca.
Fleming Library will not lend:

Loan Periods are three weeks with option of one renewal.
